The annual statistics report

The platform annually collects statistics from our member organisations with the aim of obtaining a comprehensive overview of civil society’s interactions with those affected by human trafficking. In this way, we can identify various patterns or trends, which serve as a resource for advocacy and increased knowledge about the situation and needs of those affected. All data is anonymous and treated confidentially.

Each year, we also provide statements on consultations of government investigations related to human trafficking. These are listed further down this page.

Information from the latest statistics report

In the year of 2025 the Platforms members came into contact with 420 individuals who was potentially direct or indirect victims of trafficking. 364 of these were directly affected. What they all have in common is that they were in need of support, a support they have the right to, but were unable to get other than from civil society.

The Statistics show that civil society is not only a bridge into the formal identification system, but we continuously cover systematic gaps in the support supposed to be given by authorities to victims of prostitution and human trafficking for all purposes in Sweden. The pressure on the Platforms member organisations is growing in a development where civil society get a bigger and bigger responsibility for support – and the process from identification to protection and safe shelter, information, accompaniment, contact with care facilities and others, at the same time as authorities less often than before identifies and take responsibility for the rights and needs of victims.
