Privacy and Data Management Policy

INTRODUCTION
You should always feel safe when providing your personal data to us. This privacy policy explains how the Platform against human trafficking collects and uses personal data. It also describes your rights in relation to us and how you can exercise those rights. Plattformen is the data controller in accordance with this policy and is responsible for ensuring that personal data is processed securely and correctly in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that came into effect on 25 May 2018.

DATA CONTROLLER
The Platform against human trafficking, organisation no. 802508–7985, is responsible for the organisation’s processing of your personal data. You may contact us at any time if you have questions or concerns regarding how we process your personal data.

OUR COLLECTION OF DATA AND THE PURPOSE OF COLLECTION
Private privacy is important to us. The anonymity of individuals seeking support must be protected, and we value the privacy and autonomy of those seeking help.

For the compilation of national statistics
The Platform against human trafficking stores certain information about individuals seeking help. We collect anonymous statistics about our and our members’ activities annually and thus store data such as the number of people seeking help, their gender, age, support needs, country of origin, etc. These details cannot be linked to any specific individual and are entirely anonymous.

When applying to the National Support Programme
Personal data is also collected during the processing of funding applications to the National Support Programme. This data is collected by the member organisation applying for funds from Plattformen and must be done in consent with the individual seeking help. This information is used to make decisions about support and is not shared with anyone else. Information about the country of origin, gender, number of children, and the form of exploitation of those seeking help is anonymised and presented in the annual report for Plattformen’s members and in a way that makes it impossible to trace back to a specific person. This report is shared on the Platforms website. Compiled statistics from the National Support Programme are also reported to authorities and other actors funding the support programme.

Member Information
The Platform against human trafficking collects contact information from member organisations’ contact persons and other relevant individuals to provide ongoing updates and information about our activities. Plattformen also documents its activities through text, photos, and videos, and this information is stored to report on and showcase the work of the organisation.

When you become a private member
The personal data we collect and store in our membership register includes information such as your name, contact details (email address and phone number), and information about the transaction for your membership fee (amount, time, type of transaction). We also store any images or videos in which you appear during events and/or training sessions you participate in as a member.

ACCESS AND STORAGE OF INFORMATION
The Platform against human trafficking office and board members have access to the collected data in raw form. Since we store certain information about those seeking help to compile statistics and make decisions about additional support, the registered information is deleted no later than two full calendar years after the last concluded intervention. The timeline is based on the fact that individuals seeking help may reside in the same accommodation for several years.

The information is presented and used only as compiled national statistics, where the individual is anonymised and cannot be traced back with reasonable effort. For the data that we process about an individual seeking help, the person can, either personally or through a member organisation, request information and corrections. This can be done by contacting Plattformen’s office. We will not sell, rent, or lease the collected personal data.

Legal Basis
By providing your information to the Platform, you consent to the organisation recording and storing data and processing it in accordance with this privacy policy. The legal grounds for processing are the fulfillment of a contract, legal obligation, legitimate interest, or consent. The processing will be carried out according to applicable legislation, and personal data will not be retained longer than necessary, considering the purposes for which it is processed.

Your Rights
If the personal data we process about you is incorrect, incomplete, or irrelevant, you can request that it be corrected, completed, or deleted. For example, you have the right to have your personal data erased if it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless we are required to retain the data by law or for the defense of a legal claim. If you disagree with a balancing of interests we have made, you may also object to the processing or request that we restrict it by contacting us. You have the right to access your information. To access the information we hold about you, please contact us. If you have given consent for processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. If you wish to withdraw consent, please contact us. It is important to us that you feel secure. If you have concerns about our processing of your personal data, you have the right to file a complaint with the Swedish Data Protection Authority (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten).

If you believe that our handling of your personal data has been incorrect, you can report it to the Swedish Data Protection Authority:
